The second day of cousin visit emerged, 

and there was baking to do.

Making egg shaped sugar cookies for the Easter workshop for kids at the community house on Wednesday 4/8.

The cookies all done. 

Then, it was time to enjoy the gorgeous weather outside. We are on our way up the mountain to the top. Facing where we came from.

...and this is where we're going. Tough hike with the packs full of wood for a campfire, hot dogs and potato lefse in addition to lots of water.

Finally at the 'camp' site. First job is to dig a sitting place and a little shelter against the northeastern breeze. Kerry and Rachel hard at work.

The fire is made and we grilled hot dogs on self made sticks.

The potato lefse Kerry and Rachel made last night was PERFECT as hot dog buns. It was delicous.

Next was jumping off the snow drifts. Kerry on her way.

We went to the very top of Sandsøy. "Vetten" is about 670 feet above sea level. You can see 12 islands from here, Norway's largest island as well as the second largest (in the background). Pretty cold on top, but a beautiful hike back down.

Almost all the way down again. The moose steak waited for us...all ready to eat. Yummy dinner.
