Political Efforts
Politicians from the county came to inspect the area where the tunnel opening will be when the underwater tunnel project is done (did I sound sure enough?) Tone, Kirsten and I decided to do what we love to do, make food for them. Kirsten cured some moose meat; Tone supplied with a dried and salted leg of lamb and I made Kransekake.

Here is a platter with cured moose with ginger and garlic oil, served on french bread with pine nuts.
The Kransekake became a tunnel opening for the occasion.

This is the 'party house'. We wanted to show the politicians why people want to live on Sandsøy and we got all the help we could. The weather was absolutely gorgeous. This is right outside Kirsten and Tony's house.

The table is set.

We also had crackers with Roquefort cheese and rhubarb jam made by Jorunn. Roquefort cheese has similar rules like cognac. You can only call it Roquefort when the cheese has been aged in the Combalou Caves of Roquefort-sur-Soulzon south in France....and that's the law!

A lonely chair waiting for a tunnel and more people to sit in it!
After talking to the politicians for half an hour, they left with a positive impression of what's going on on the island. We're crossing our fingers.
