Veronica is a wild blueberry field. Not much stayed in the cup. Just enough to have a snack at school the next day.

Barbara sitting in a wild blueberry field.

At Mormor and Morfar's house (mother's mother and mother's father = grandparents) for birthday chocolate cake for Barbara on 8/25.

One of Barbaa's favorites: Swingset at the school. The woodsy area behind is also part of the playground. The students go here and climb the trees!

This is a section of the kitchen in Barbara's classroom - and her friend Emil. Every student have their own water cup with their name on it. Part of learning to organize and not spread germs. One boy put soap in all the cups one day....not too tasty.

Barbara in her classroom. She is sitting next to Ruth in this photo. Barbara's classroom and the one next door (1st and 2nd grades) and the elementary classrooms. They have one day off school every week, mud room to wash off boots and rain gear, locker room to hang clothes and boots and to leave extra clothes. They have their own kitchen, bathrooms and as you can see, special chairs. Just a little bit pampered!! Alli, recognize the T-shirt?

This is Veronica's classroom. She is in the pink shirt on the left.  As you can see there are stacks of books in Norway, too (on teacher's desk). Her classroom is called the 'middle grades' at the school.

Here are the main teachers. Veronica's contact teacher (Frode) is number two from the left. Number one from the left is the support teacher (Per Arne). Each classroom also has a teacher's aid (aid not in the photo for Veronica's classroom). Veronica's classroom consists of 5th (9 students), 6th (4 students) and 7th grade (2 students). Barbara's main teacher is number 4 from the right (Alf - partly covered). The support teacher is number two from the right (Grethe) and number one from the right is that classroom's teacher's aid (Veronica). Barbara's classroom consists of 3rd grade (5 students) and 4th grade (11 students). We'll be posting the lesson plans later.

This is the school bus that takes them from the ferry to the school.

The girls walking onboard the car ferry on their way to school, together with their friend, Sigrid (3rd grader). There are 10 students who take the ferry every day.

Veronica and Barbara outside our house on the first day of school. As you can see it was a rainy day on 8/21.

Randi's sister, Karin, with the day's catch. Coalfish with good liver gives a great dinner any time of day (served with potatoes, carrots and flatbread). Coalfish is an arctic fish and the best around.....

Veronica picking wild blueberries with her cousin, Katrine (3).

A view of Sandsøy from the next island over.

This is the view from the front of our house. The girls were playing Badminton in the Olympics in this picture.

The water is freezing.

Gorgeous beaches

Our little living room. It has a small work table as well.

The girls bedroom with a great view from the second story.

This is 'downtown' Sandsøy. In front is the ferry dock and the grocery store.
In the back left (red house) is our house. The back right is my parent's house.

Our last meal in California.
